Dry-type transformers are available in open type, closed type, and cast type designs, enabling them to meet the requirements of different installation conditions. In cast-type structures, the winding is insulated with epoxy resin or similar materials, while in closed-type configurations, the winding is placed inside a sealed housing that is separated from the outside air—an arrangement commonly used in mining equipment, where heat dissipation is limited but explosion-proof performance is essential.
