Reading Volume :
Recently, 5 sets of 4500kVA power transformers manufactured by our company for a key power project in Turkey have successfully passed factory tests and been loaded for delivery. These products will be used for local industrial power distribution and new energy grid connection, delivering efficient and reliable power conversion solutions to our client.

 4500kVA power transformers

Strict Standards, Superior Quality

  • Each transformer in this delivery has a rated capacity of 4500 kVA. It is designed, manufactured and tested in full compliance with the IEC 60076 series standards, meeting all relevant requirements set by the International Electrotechnical Commission for power transformers. The main technical parameters are as follows:
  • Rated Capacity: 4500 kVA
  • Primary Voltage: 36.5 kV (adjustable range: ±2×2.5%)
  • Dual Secondary Voltage: 2×0.69 kV
  • Frequency: 50 Hz
  • Vector Group: Dyn11
  • Short-circuit Impedance: 7% (±10%)
  • Insulation Level: LI200 AC85 / AC3

Adapt to Harsh Environments, Safe and Reliable

Taking into account the local climate and installation conditions in Turkey, the transformers are engineered with excellent environmental adaptability:
  • Temperature Rise Limits: Top oil 55K, Windings 60K (compliant with IEC standards)
  • Installation Altitude: ≤ 1500 mInstallation
  • Type: Indoor & Outdoor dual-purpose
  • Cooling Mode: ONAN/ONAF (Natural Oil Natural Air / Natural Oil Forced Air). The modes switch automatically according to load, effectively improving overload capacity.
  • Noise Level: Tested in accordance with IEC 60076-10, meeting the requirements for operation in safety zones.

Customer Pain Points

Large Grid Voltage Fluctuations with Insufficient Conventional Voltage Regulation Range

The power grid voltage in some regions of Turkey is unstable, especially in industrial zones and new energy connection points, where voltage fluctuations can exceed ±5%. Conventional transformers with only ±2×2.0% voltage regulation capacity fail to meet actual operating requirements. This tends to cause excessive deviation of secondary voltage and threaten the safety of downstream equipment.

Demand for Multiple Independent Low-Voltage Outputs Complicates On-Site Wiring

The project requires power supply for multiple motors and electrical units simultaneously. A solution using a single low-voltage winding with external distribution will raise cable costs, occupy more cabinet space and reduce operational reliability. Improper design of conventional two-winding transformers may also lead to unbalanced phase distribution and uneven load sharing.

High Ambient Temperature and Frequent Overloading Result in Inadequate Heat Dissipation

The maximum temperature in Turkey can exceed 40°C in summer. Industrial loads fluctuate drastically and short-term overloads occur frequently. Ordinary transformers with ONAN cooling are prone to overheating under high temperature and heavy load conditions, which accelerates insulation aging, shortens service life and even forces derated operation.

Limited Installation Space and Strict Requirements for Indoor & Outdoor Application

Some sites require indoor installation while others are exposed outdoors. The transformers need to comply with indoor noise standards and withstand harsh outdoor conditions including wind, rain and direct sunlight. Besides, the installation altitude is close to 1500 meters. General products are not designed to adapt to the impacts of high altitude on insulation and heat dissipation performance.

High Insulation Requirements Due to High Risks of Lightning and Switching Overvoltage

Thunderstorms are frequent in many parts of Turkey, and frequent grid switching also occurs. Transformers designed with a basic impulse insulation level (BIL) of merely 150kV have inadequate insulation performance. They are highly vulnerable to winding insulation breakdown caused by lightning surge or switching overvoltage, which may lead to severe shutdown incidents.

Poor Maintainability and Incomplete Accessory Configuration

Some previously purchased transformers lack key protective accessories such as pressure relief valves and oil level indicators, and suffer from messy wiring. These issues hinder routine inspection and rapid fault diagnosis, increasing maintenance costs and downtime.
