Introduction

The iron core of the transformer is made of silicon steel, because silicon steel itself is a magnetic substance with strong magnetic conductivity, and in the energized coil, it can produce a large magnetic induction strength, which can reduce the size of the transformer.

The iron core is the main magnetic circuit part of the transformer. It is usually made of hot rolled or cold-rolled silicon steel sheets with high silicon content and coated with insulating paint. The iron core and the coils wound on it form a complete electromagnetic induction system.

In practice, transformers always operate in AC state, and the power loss is not only in the resistance of the coil, but also in the core under the magnetization of alternating current. Usually the power loss in the core is called "iron loss", iron loss is usually caused by two reasons, one is "hysteresis loss" and the other is "eddy current loss".
