Introduction

Silicon steel is the most commonly used of the magnetic materials used in power transformers. Especially suitable for low frequency and high power. Commonly used are cold-rolled silicon steel sheet DG3, cold-rolled non-oriented electrical steel strip DW, and cold-rolled oriented electrical steel strip DQ.

It is suitable for chokes, reactors, and inductive cores in various electronic systems, small and medium power low-frequency transformers and household appliances. This alloy has good toughness and can be processed by punching and cutting. The iron core is laminated and wound. However, losses increase sharply at high frequencies, and the general frequency of use does not exceed 400 Hz.

Application

Generally, the grain unoriented cold rolled strip is used as the iron core of motor or welding transformer, etc.
Grain oriented cold rolled strips are used as cores for power transformers, pulse transformers and magnetic amplifiers.
